Obituary For Gloria Judith Carpenter

Gloria Judith Carpenter, 89, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 4, 1937, in Buchanan, Georgia, Gloria lived a life defined by love, resilience, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her through her kindness, strength, and compassion. Whether through a warm meal, a comforting conversation, or simply being present for those she loved, Gloria had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome and at home.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, celebrating holidays together, watching her children and grandchildren grow, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Gloria found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time chatting with family and friends, preparing home-cooked meals for those she loved, tending to her plants, and relaxing with her favorite shows on HGTV and Food Network. She never met a stranger, and whether you stopped by for a visit or stayed for dinner, Gloria had a way of making everyone feel like part of the family.

Gloria was preceded in death by Kenneth Carpenter, with whom she shared many years and raised their family, and by her cherished son, Scott Carpenter.

She is survived by her loving children, Stephanie Carpenter and Matthew Carpenter; her grandchildren, Sean Carpenter and Nicholas Carpenter; her beloved great-granddaughter, Luna Carpenter; and numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Las Colinas Medical Center, as well as the compassionate caregivers of Holy Savior Hospice, whose kindness, dignity, and unwavering support provided comfort and peace during Gloria’s final days.

In accordance with Gloria’s wishes, services will be held at a later date. Her family will honor and celebrate her life together privately.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Gloria’s love, wisdom, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and unconditional love will never be forgotten.
