Obituary For Steven Thomas Lueb

Steven Thomas Lueb passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 59. He was born to Tom and Elaine Lueb on June 15, 1967 in Huntsville, Alabama. Steve grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Bryan Adams High School where he was a four-year member of the debate team. He then attended Stephen F. Austin State University where he earned a BBA degree.

Steve’s family were active members of the White Rock YMCA and he grew up playing on Y soccer, baseball, and football teams. Steve enjoyed camping, fishing, and dove hunting in his youth and as an adult. His father taught him to work on cars and a zeal for tinkering and restoring classic cars was born. His passion project was his Plymouth Barracuda.

In elementary school, Steve played the violin. In high school, he picked up a guitar and from that point on, he was never without one or two or more. He always enjoyed a good fire whether that was in the fireplace, on a campout, in a fire pit in the backyard with guitar in hand or just hanging out with friends.

In his late twenties, Steve developed a love of chilis and so the “The Chili Dude” was born. As a chili farmer, his hot chili oil was award winning (State Fair of Texas) and he sold his chili oils for many years at the National Fiery Food Show in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

As an adult, Steve became an avid bike rider and he rode thousands of miles each year around White Rock Lake. He even completed the Hotter’N Hell Hundred one year.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother Elaine (2010) and his father Tom (2016). He is survived by his sister Cindy Lueb, brother Greg (Allie) Lueb, and his nephew and niece, Michael Lueb and Ashley Lueb. He leaves behind many dear and cherished friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:30am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 901 Park St., Ennis, TX 75119. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Steve’s name to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Ennis, Texas.
