Carol J. Coffman died December 14th, 2025, at the age of 82.
Carol, a loving mother and wife, passed away peacefully with her children by her side at the LifeCare hospital in Carrolton, TX. She is survived by her son Russell Dixon and his wife Lonnie, and Connie Starnes, two grandchildren Ronnie-Sue Reagan Starnes and Cadence-Sue Starnes, a stepson Loyde Coffman and two step grandchildren. Carol was the oldest of seven children born to Francis and Rita Buser and is survived by her sibling Nancy Fain (Robert), Jim Buser (Debbie), Dennis Buser (Stella), Danny Buser (Pam), and Debbie Nutt (Pat). Carol was always immensely proud of her brothers and sisters and their families. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother, aunt and great-aunt to her brother and sister’s children and grandchildren. In her active years she rarely missed the opportunity to send them a card for their birthday or milestones. Carol married Russell R. Dixon in 1963 and then divorced in 1968. Carol remained a single parent focused on her children until both had graduated and left home then met and married her second husband in 1985. Carol had a long career in retail having worked for both Woolworth and Thrifty Drug in Farmington NM, after retiring she returned to her education completing a degree from San Juan College. She was grateful for the support that a large loving network of family and friends brought to her life. Carol developed End Stage Renal Disease and in 2018 began a journey with life on dialysis. We want to thank and acknowledge the staff at Davita Farmington NM and Davita Prosper TX who took such great care during those treatments that provided her the extra years with her family and friends. We are also grateful to those caregivers at Beehive Homes of Farmington NM for the care given to help achieve the goals necessary to relocate her to Texas in 2021 to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters. She was able to see both graduate High School and attend the Colleges of their choice. We also wanted to extend a thank you to the caregivers and friends at Tribute Senior Living of Prosper TX where she was a resident for the last 4 years.
Carol enjoyed traveling and local sightseeing trips and continued that pastime until her death.
She was preceded in death by her second husband of 38 years Thomas L. Coffman Jr. in 2023 and her brother Dale F. Buser in 2021, and stepdaughter Kathy Coffman in 2010.
She will be missed and always loved by her family and friends.
A private service will be held at a later date.
