George Craig Williams, 71, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on June 6th, 2025 at his home in Dallas, Texas.
Born in Merced, California on June 7th, 1954, Craig attended Shawnee Mission South High School in Kansas City, graduating in the class of 1972. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1976, he took over ownership of the family business—Williams Equipment Company—distributing hydraulic equipment. Later, he owned his own fitness equipment business, Body Bar.
Craig was preceded by his father, George Conrad Williams. He is survived by his daughters, Mindy and Allison Williams, his mother, Mary Claire Williams, and his sister Mary Alane Winkler.
Loved by everyone who knew him, Craig was known for his gregarious nature, sharp wit, and love of Kansas City sports—KU basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, and Sporting Kansas City. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family, friends and beloved dog, Guero. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Brighter Days Dog Rescue in Boulder, Colorado or to your local animal shelter. A celebration of life service will take place in Kansas City this summer (more details to come).
