Specialist Paul Brian Bennett passed away on February 23, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Mathew and Carolyn Mae Bennett, and his brother, Joseph Mark. Paul loved his country, serving in the U.S. Army for seven years as a Combat Medic and Licensed Vocational Nurse. During this time, he received many awards including Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Lapel Button, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Combat Medical Badge.
Paul was passionate about his work, spending many years caring for patients as a medic, pediatric home-health nurse, and dialysis nurse.
Paul loved music and family. He enjoyed playing his many guitars, kalimbas, mandolins, ukuleles and harmonicas. He loved Bob Dylan, John Denver, and Bruce Springsteen. He enjoyed visiting National Parks and was especially fond of the Alaskan terrain and Florida beaches. He recently became an avid bird watcher.
Survivors include Mathew Bennett and family, Deborah, Eric and Paige, Sarah and Zack and their children. John Bennett and family, Karen, Rachel and Colin, Nathan, and Zachary. Carol Porter and family, Chris, Claire, and Nicholas. Theresa Bates and family, Mitch, Jacob and Courtney, Sam, and Hannah. Ed Bennett and family, Holly, Kirsten, and Lynley. Libby Bennett and partner, Donald Griswold.
Extended family includes his military brothers, The Healy, Gray, Teter, Wade, and Gargiulo families.
The service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an organization supporting veterans.
