He was the cherished son of Mary Ella Hamilton and Almus (Al) Gardner Hamilton, proudly carrying "Gardner" as his middle name to honor his mother's family. Dallas was where he grew up, built a career, and raised his own family. Later in life, Richard and his wife, Sharon, retired to their beloved lake house in East Texas, a place of peace, family gatherings, and shared memories.
A Love Story for the Ages
Richard's life was deeply rooted in the love he shared with his wife, Sharon. They met when she was just 15, and he was 18, and it was love at first sight. From that moment on, they were inseparable, building a family life centered on friendship, loyalty, and unwavering support. Together, they raised three children: Scott Hamilton, Jon Hamilton, and Hayley Stoneburner. Richard found his greatest joy in his role as a husband, father, and eventually grandfather, as his family continued to grow.
