Thu Ho was born and raised by her loving family in Can Tho, Vietnam where she lived during her younger life, later migrating to the U.S. in 1990 in search of a better life. Thu discovered the beauty of Garland, Texas – a place she loved and enjoyed since the timing of their arrival. Garland became the family's new home and loving community until her untimely and recent death.
Thu was a great provider for her family. She made each day count by being productive in many ways. She worked a few jobs attempting to find a good fit for herself and her family. She worked for NCA Circuit Company for eighteen years, working in the hand soldering department, including hardwire circuitry assembling circuit boards. She was skilled and gifted in this area and she enjoyed this work for close to 30 years. Thu's position required re-certification annually, and she was always proud to pass this process every year with flying stars and colors. Thu held herself to a very high standard and made it a personal goal in her daily life to fulfill her duties and while creating quality products.
Thu was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in 2018, and while she lived a productive and healthy life, especially during all the experiential treatments, she still had a desire to help others. She remained consistent by attending all of her appointments and undergoing the ex, taking care of herself physically and emotionally, she still remained a loving and devoted mother to her family and also to her company. It was noted that during her final days of life, and while being hospitalized at Parkland Hospital, Thu was working from her hospital bed; still making each day count toward productivity that would eventually help others. She held herself to a very high standard, and expected nothing less of her children. (She wanted to produce quality products which meant she needed to focus.)
On the home-front, Thu enjoyed spending time talking to her sons, both of who are first-responders along with their four granddaughters. She taught her family in word and deed to also be consistent and hard-working. Talking to her sons and their daughters by phone regularly was always the highlight of their week. Thu enjoyed drinking beer with her son, David, and the two of them referred the other as a "beer drinking partner".
Being a provider for her family was her true hallmark and legacy her offspring will now cherish. 'Acts of Service' was her primary love-language as she would consistently go out of her way to be helpful, encouraging and kind to others. Thu is lovingly remembered for being kind-hearted and always being willing to lend a hand to others, and if someone was in need, she would be one of the first to attempt to make a difference. Her family members will miss most her physical presence in their home, her hospitality, and the way she provided and maintained order in their home. The memory of her cooking, and especially the specialty dish of pork dumplings will forever be cherished and missed.
She is survived by her sons, David and Aaron along with her four granddaughters of whom she adored and cherished. She is also survived by her father, a Vietnam War Veteran. Thu was close to her family, especially her mother who proceeded her in death in 2020. Additionally, her loving mother and loyal siblings have all proceeded her in death. Thu was raised a Buddhist, but she acquainted herself with Jesus Christ also. Upon conclusion of her funeral on Saturday, February 15, 2025, her cremated remains will be flown and deposited in Viet Nam where she will be reunited with her loving mother.
