Ryan D. Hughes is a 4th generation funeral director at Hughes Family Tribute
Center. He has always been around the Dallas area since he was a little boy, growing up within the funeral
home industry quite literally. Ryan lived in an apartment within the funeral home for six years as he went
to middle school and part of high school.
His great-grandfather, Dudley M. Hughes, and grandfather, Ronald Hughes, Sr., started the funeral home
business in the 1940s. As a child, Ryan guest starred in a commercial with his grandfather for the funeral
home showing that our services are always from “Our Family to Yours.”
Ryan has always been active in serving with the Boy Scouts of America. He became an Eagle Scout in 2009. He
is a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scout’s National Honor Society, and served as a
Chapter Chief. Additionally, he was a founder and served as president of the the Venturing Officers
Association for the Dallas Council.
He went to high school at Richland Collegiate High School, and graduated from the University of North Texas
with a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship. He was a member of the Baptist Student Ministries (BSM) at the
University of North Texas where he met his wife, Kristine. Ryan served on the Texas BSM State Lead Team. He
attended the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and is a member of the honor mortuary fraternity, Pi Sigma
Eta, where he served as the President of the Chapter.
Ryan is a Certified Funeral Celebrant, a Certified Preneed Consultant, as well as a Certified Funeral
Service Practitioner.
Ryan enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and reading. He is passionate about music. Most of all, he
loves spending time with wife Kristine, and their son, Wesley.
